PDQ UPDATE
Shvat 5768 January 2008
Dear Teachers,
At this point, following the restructuring of the former BJE as the Mercaz [Centre for Enhancement of Jewish Education], the Mercaz is focusing attention on a major cooperative initiative involving the affiliated schools: QRE ~ Quality Review and Enhancement. The QRE initiative facilitates renewable cycles of quality review to enhance the learning experience of the students in our schools. QRE is currently being piloted with a few schools. It is anticipated that the initiative will be enlarged to reach the teachers of many more Mercaz-affiliated schools.
At the same time, some of the Mercaz’s previous initiatives, begun under the auspices of the former BJE, are being put on hold or collapsed. Among these are the PDQ courses* and Israel Incentive**. We applaud your decision to have participated in the PDQs and encourage you to continue to find additional paths to lifelong learning.
Sincerely,
Laura Wiseman
